Eddie Biedenbach

BASKETBALL:  lettered three years, two league championships, ALL State

FOOTBALL:  lettered two years, quarterback/linebacker 

North Carolina State:  basketball, three year starter for Everett Case and Press Maravich, two time All-ACC, three ACC championship game appearances and one championship 

National Basketball Association: LA Lakers and Phoenix Suns one year 

Coaching Career:  Assistant to Norm Sloan NC State, recruited players such as Tom Burleson, Monty Towe, and David Thompson; Head Coach Davidson, three years; Head Coach UNC Asheville, 1st place finish 11-3 in league, earned Eddie Coach of the Year Big South Conference 1997 

Jack Cassidy 

East Pittsburgh High School:  1957 graduate

FOOTBALL:  four year letter earner, defensive end/tackle/quarterback/wide receiver/punter/kick-off/punt returner, Captain two years; member of All-Opponent football team for several schools

BASKETBALL:  four year letter earner, scored over 1000 points, Captain two years, leading scorer two years, leading rebounder three years, Co-captain 1956 WPIAL Championship team and PIAA State Finalist team, All-Section 16B two years, All WPIAL Honorable Mention 1956, 3rd team All State 1856, MVP East Pittsburgh Invitational Tourney and All Tournament team 1957 

Jack turned down several scholarship offers; became Chief of Police in East Pittsburgh 

 Charley Feeney

Newspaper Career; began as 15 year old messenger, after war Long Island Press and Long Island Start Journal, covered MLB New York Giants 1951-57, Yankees 1958-61 shared coverage 1962-63 full-time, Pittsburgh Post -Gazette hired by Al Abrams to cover Pirates 1966-86 

Service:  US Navy 1942-46 

Inductions:  Western Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame 1990, Writers Hall of Fame Cooperstown, NY 1997- Charley’s friend and neighbor, Elroy Face, former Pirate, threw a part in Charley’s honor; Charley said it was the first time a player ever threw a party for a sportswriter 

Dennis Hyland

Charles Morrissey

Native of Monroeville  

Lakeland College: football, gained 2,113 yards scored 127 points, established or tied 11 records, All-Wisconsin Small College football team by United Press International two of four years, consistently among top small college rushers in the nation, Captain 1964, MVP 1962 and 1964, jersey #32 retired by school 1965 

National Football League Pittsburgh Steelers:  signed contract 1965 to play for Buddy Parker 

Central States Football League:  returned to Wisconsin 1966 to coach/player Sheboygan Redwings, George Colton Award for Sportsmanship and Leadership 1972 

Inductions:  Lakeland College Hall of Fame 1972

FOOTBALL:  quarterback under Pete Antimarino, two year starter, team record 20-2, won West Penn Conference, WPIAL Championship, #1 in state 1972, senior year WPIAL MVP, Dapper Dan Athlete of the Year, Pennsylvania Big 33 All Star, Post Gazzete All Star, two year All Conference, 2nd Team All State, Sunkist High School All American  Honorable Mention

National Football League:  Contacted by New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles, entered service instead

Official Career:  PIAA football and basketball 1953-60, Jr. WPIAL Decision Committee, Chairman of Football Committee 

Honors:  Man of the Year Monroeville Dapper Dan 1973, Man of the Year Gateway Boosters 1976 

Retired from Gateway School District in 1982 after 35 years of service in public education

FOOTBALL:  three year starter, quarterback, played for Chuck Klausing, record breaking unbeaten streak for Braddock, senior year Outstanding Player WPIAL, All-State, played in Big 33 game 

Dartmouth:  football scholarship (transferred after one year to University of Dayton- 1964 graduate)
