FOOTBALL:  undefeated team 1943 

Other football:  quarterback for Pitcairn Mohawks 

Highland University (now New Mexico State):  All Conference senior year 

Coaching Career:  Pitcairn two year assistant coach to Chuck Klausing, became head coach, first head coach Gateway High School 1958, 32 year record 236-80-12, only four losing seasons at Gateway, five WPIAL championships, five undefeated seasons (1965-69-72-74-86), 17 conference championship, numerous Coach of the Year honors.  Pete retired at end of 1989 season.

Coaching Career:  General Braddock assistant coach under Paul Birch,  became head coach 1975- two section championships, combined record 34-9, Section 5 Coach of the Year, coached Dapper Dan Roundball Classic 1977; Robert Morris College assistant coach 1977, became head coach 1979, three consecutive ECAC Metro Championships, two consecutive NCAA tournament appearances, ECAC COACH of the Year 1982 and 1983; Marist College in Ploughkeepsie, New York head basketball coach accepted 1984, two ECAC Metro Championships, one NCAA tournament appearance, ECAC Metro Coach of the Year

John Kracsun 

Turtle Creek High School:  1945-48

FOOTBALL:  center and linebacker for Ben Haldy and Ralph Fife 

Slippery Rock College: 1948-52 lettered football four years, Captain and All-Conference junior and senior years, Honorable Mention All-State senior year 

Service:  entered Army 1952, middle linebacker undefeated Camp Brechenridge 101st Airborne team 

Coaching Career:  Turtle Creek (two years ) assistant to Ossie Rometto, Mt. Lebanon (four years) assistant to Ralph Fife, Head coaching at Cheltenham (five years) and Central Bucks (one year), 1967 return to WPIAL coaching Munhall and Steel Valley  (five years), 11 year record 70-28-3, without a losing season

BASEBALL:  catcher, batted over .400 

University of Pittsburgh football, 1940: Only 5’8” and 165 lbs, Coach Charlie Bowser gave Steve football scholarship, suffered career ending head injury
