Bowling:  bowled in WTAE Junior Bowling Tournament and Pennsylvania Junior Champions Bowling Tournament 1962,  Greater Pittsburgh Tenpin Bowling Association Champions- won four singles, one all events, and seven team titles; top ten placements in PBA Eastern Regional, ABC Classic Singles, ABH Masters and Peterson Classic; lifetime 200 average, more than 200+ series of 700 or more, five perfect 300 games, 1112 sanctioned four game series- world record at the time (1978),  Greater Pittsburgh All-Star Team 1970, Dapper Dan Club for bowling achievement

Professional baseball:  22 seasons in professional baseball, 15 ½ in the major league, member of 1960 World Champion Pirates (defeated Yankees), “Mr. Fireman” won the Fireman Award in the National League in 1962, pitched 802 games with one team, record for highest won-loss percentage with 15 + victories with 18-1 record 1959, .947 percentage, most consecutive wins in relief (22), overall major league career record 104 (97 in relief)- 95 and 193 saves, pitched 1,375 innings, struck out 877 and, lifetime ERA 3.48

William McMillan

Service:  Marine Corps, 27 years of service 

Marksmanship:  Won first gold medal with pistol 1949, 4th National Pistol Championship 1951, 7th at 1952 Olympics at Helsinki, Finland- age 22, 1st of six Olympics;   won World Rifle Championship in Caracas, Venezuela 1954, competed in six World Rifle Championships, winning two; gold medal at Pan Am games 1967, National Pistol Champion 1956 and 1957, won gold medal Rome Olympics in shoot-off among US, Finland and Russia 1960 

Honors:  Marine Corps National Pistol Shooting Trophy in his honor 1979, McMillan Trophy awarded to Marine regular or reserve who attains the highest aggregate score in the National Individual Pistol Matches
