Robert Evans 

Born in Iberia, Ohio, moved to Braddock in 1906 

Baseball:  Lundine A.C., Braddock IOOF, Korch Cresson A.C., Braddock  Owls, East Pittsburgh Sokols, Second Story Morries and Edgar Thomson. 

Western League Baseball:  Fargo, ND 

Pittsburgh City League Baseball:  Umpire 

North Versailles Community Softball:  Player and Umpire 

Volunteer:  Commercial League, Tri-Boro basketball tournaments at Braddock Carnegie Club, seconded fighters for Carnegie Club boxing team

Native of Rankin, PA 

Rankin High School:

BASKETBALL- four years for famed Jock Rosenberg; 1934 team went to state finals in Philadelphia 

Semi-pro Basketball:  Pittsburgh Lyceum, Westinghouse AA, East Pittsburgh Pirates 

Track:  Westinghouse middle distance runner; competed in AMA-AAU sanctioned track meets 

Sandlot baseball:  Wilkinsburg with Don Heeps 

Little League:  One of organizers in Rankin

First athlete to letter in four sports freshman year, did not play senior year

Basketball:  Played for Championship teams in Homestead, Braddock, and Rankin 

Baseball:   Played for Carnegie Club, Westinghouse, Braddock Klabans and Braddock Owls 

Other Baseball:  Helped organize Braddock-North Braddock Little League, Assisted Pie Traynor conducting baseball schools for Pittsburgh Pirates

Softball:  Pitched for Gordon-Narey 

Other:  Helped organize VFW Post #5008 East Pittsburgh, first Commander 

John Nese 

Native of East Pittsburgh 

Track/Cross Country:  Medal winner AAU sanctioned long distance races, began marathon running 1924, Westinghouse AA track team- ran AMA-AAU sanctioned cross country races from 3 to 26 miles.  Competed 26 years; 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in every race. 

Coaching Career:  Westinghouse Switchgear me and girls basketball teams, 20 years- won many championships. 

Baseball and Softball Umpire:  10 years

BASKETBALL- Varsity, three years, best number 6 man

BASEBALL- shortstop, won WPIAL title 1928-29, 3 years led team in hitting 

Grove City College:  Football, ran 70 yards for TD first time carried ball, returned interception 98 yards, named to All Opponent Team by every opponent team

National Football League:  Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns

Football- Powerful 265 pound center, never wore shoulder pads. 

DC/AC Football team in Homestead 1901, Massillon Tigers, Grantland Rice picked Bon on early All Pro team
